new media-4mations evaluation

The idea of my design follows the current 3D trend, which is big in film and animation.
Using 3D in animation, it makes watching something motion eye catching and realistic as well as making it a relevant idea to use for an animation platform such as 4mations.

My idea of the design is to implement this in to the 4mations logo, website and partly in the web banner.

For the logo i had experiment with different colours and opacity combinations to find the best outcome-this being the red and blue with a multiply blending mode to create the black hue, aswell as adding a light grey hue to add more depth and play on the 3D look.

However my initial plan to use 3d glasses with my design failed, as it did not give the full affect I was expecting or required when testing the design the glasses, upon this I thought not many people will have 3D glasses handy and defeats the point of the design, so I decided to keep the design to portray the 3D feel with the overlapping red and blue hue.

I kept this style design consistent carrying on from the logo, and on to each design with the website and banner.
With the website I tried to keep it simple as possible, as I found leaving the background white works more affectively as a whole in the design without being distracting to the foreground and playing on the 3D appearance with adding a top like platform of the website with the placement of the logo to sit on.
To add to the 3D appearance side borders are vertically place on each side with a red and blue overlapping, same technique used for the logo.
Placing this helps play on the theme without over doing the design and allowing the bold colours to work together without being to over empowering to the viewer.
To add this style to my banner, I used this style at the ending sequence, with the same borders and logo used the same.

If I did this project again – I would look in to more ideas and look at different style logos and animations used to give more range of ideas and concepts or look in to a way in to making the anaglyph successful.

Apart from this the design is bold in colour, current and relevant in relation to 4mations aswell as being fun and interesting, in this sense it shows the design is a success.
